Commodity Manager

Manufacturing automotive facility is seeking a Commodity/Sourcing Buyer to act as their active project team member on new/existing programs assigned that includes but is not limited to managing the sourcing timeline and coordination of activities of Commodity component supplies and ensures projects assigned are on time and under budget.

Job Duties:
o Work closely with procurement and manufacturing managers to provide necessary operational as well as strategic support and advice on matters related to commodity components and lead efforts to identify local qualified suppliers.
o Co-ordinates and encourages integration with the internal customer to meet their requirements (user team meetings, project teams, on-site operations teams/management).
o Generate and maintenance of Commodity component management and tracking sheets for sourcing activities of new/existing items.
o Generation of approved supplier bid list that is appropriate for specific items in terms of supplier capability, quality and potential competitiveness.
o Generate of RFQ/RFP packages for the selected supplier bid process.
o Quote return management and analysis to ensure suppliers have submitted proposals on time, in the correct format and for bid completion.
o Coordination of pricing negotiations involving the appropriate personnel, management and resources from other departments to obtain the most repetitive commercial agreement.
o Generation of contracts; schedule agreements and purchase orders in SAP to be submitted to the appropriate personnel for signature and final approval.
o Ongoing project team support as changes in customer requirements or timeline.
o Communicate and coordinate all the purchasing activities with appropriate plant personnel. Full participation, completion and analysis of regional/global reporting requirements. Active participation and support in continuous improvement activities such as VA/VE and Design-to-Cost workshops.
o As required, support new projects acquisition through accurate cost estimate of new components and tooling through the use of clean sheet cost estimation, benchmarking or other advanced techniques and willing to be held accountable to those estimates.

Education &
Experience:
o Technical/College Degree or equivalent combination of Education and Experience (No Exception)
o 2yrs minimum in program management
o 2
yrs in sourcing/procurement
o Automotive experience required

Skills:
o Microsoft Office Suite/programs with expertise in Outlook, Excel & Project.
o Demonstrable organizational skills to manage complex assemblies, and timelines.
o Ability to work within a multinational team in dispersed global locations.
o Must have formal training or prior automotive APQP experience and basic understanding of quality certification TS 16949.
o Detailed with excellent problem solving skills with analysis techniques.
o Cost breakdown analysis, exceptional negotiation techniques and functional expertise in SAP.
o Must have basic technical understanding of injection molding components and/or electronics with the ability and willingness to make commitments and decisions.
o Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) of both technical and non-technical.
o Capable of influencing internal decision makers to make decisions aligned with strategies and objectives benefiting the entire organization.
o Demonstrate decision making on complex programs, conflict resolution, maintaining deadlines and leadership across organizations.

Salary range: $85 - $95k (DOE)
Dress Attire: Business Casual
Working knowledge within the automotive industryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
